Ways To Stay Motivated Working From Home

Our current worldwide epidemic has carried an extensive amount of adaptation we are all having to adjust to--thanks to the Coronavirus. The changes conducted are unfamiliar to most of the population, such as working from home, schools converting to online classes, nightly curfews, travel bans, the closure of businesses, and a loss of jobs due to most of these factors.

It’s troublesome to find the light at the end of the tunnel during COVID-19, but we must look for outlets to keep our mind sane. Although, it does become challenging when they tell us to abide by these rules of not going outside, being around people, or whatever the case may be because it typically makes us want to do the opposite.

So, here's a list of things I've been doing to keep sane during this time:

+ROUTINE: Simply because we're out of our typical routine, doesn't mean we should neglect the routine we developed and followed when we went to work every day. We should still be getting up early, getting dressed, and acting as if we have our regular obligations. For me, I wake up around 5 a.m., scroll through my phone for about 10 minutes, get myself together (stretch and drink water), and then start my day by following my normal routine, which you can find here

+EXERCISE: At a time like this, especially, we need to make an effort to move our bodies for our physical and mental health. By having more time at home, it's easy to push tasks off and stay indoors, but don't accept the trap. It's critical for us to move our bodies for at least 30-minutes a day, whether it's going on a bike ride, taking a walk, watching a workout video online, swimming, etc., do something to release those endorphins and break a sweat!

+BREAKS: Don't feel guilty for taking breaks throughout the day. According to the Tork survey, nearly 90% of North American employees claim taking a lunch break helps them feel refreshed and ready to get back to work. There are also more benefits to taking breaks, such as increased productivity, improved mental well-being, a creativity boost, and more time for healthier habits, which is all noted in a Forbes article.

+FIND A WORKING SPACE: There are a lot of memes regarding working from home due to families and dogs being around, but it's important to find a place to work efficiently from. This will vary for everyone, but whether it's our room, an at-home office, an outdoor seating area, or whatever it is, it's important to not have a lot of distractions, such as people talking, loud noises, or animals barking.
