MY SYDNEY ITINERARY

+ Travel: We came from Queenstown, New Zealand, a 3h and 20-min flight directly into Sydney's International Airport. And for some advice, make sure you have your travelers Visa ready. We, unfortunately, did not, which led us to miss our first flight, buy a Visa (30 USD), and then buy our second flight for about 200 USD. What fun that was. However, I will say the Visa process is extremely quick and took only 30 minutes for us to have.

+ Hotel:We landed in Sydney and thought we were past the inevitable travel complications, or so we thought. As we were getting prepared to leave the airport, we realized our cute and quaint Airbnb was 45 minutes from the city, and with only 48 hours in Sydney, we had to think of plan b. So, after three hours debating all the possible options of what we could do, we ended up booking a last-minute hostel in the heart of Sydney. The hostel was located in downtown China Town, so it was centrally located and offered free breakfast, which was a huge plus.

+ Transportation:  Walking is very doable and probably the best way to wander about the city. However, Uber and Lyft are available, and, of course, there's the bus system, which was very simple to use when wanting to get to the outer parts of the city.

+ Food + Drinks: Since we only had 48 hours in Sydney, we didn't get to try many places for food and drinks, but we did the best we could. In the Circular Quay just south of the opera house, we ate at Eastbank Cafe Bar Pizzeria for lunch. In Bondi, we ate at Sushi Train Bondi Beach, a laid-back spot right on the strip, and for drinks, we went to Hotel Ravesis, a notorious Instagram bar, which I loved, but the vibe was good and a prime place to get cocktails and hang out with friends.

+ Sights: An obvious must-see is the Sydney Opera House; here you can pick from an abundance of boat rides at the warf leading you into the bay, or pick one of the many restaurants and bars to grab a bite and have a drink.

And the trendiest and most iconic spot would be Bondi Beach. There are countless reasons as to why Bondi is an iconic spot, but the first would be the Bondi Iceberg Club. The pools are open to the public and lay adjacent to the ocean, which makes for a striking sight to see when the waves crash along the sidewall. The beach is nothing to pass up either, coated in white sand and dreamy blue waves call for it to be a surfers paradise.
