Weekend Getaway in Miami

day one

Stay - In North Miami Beach, I stayed at a boutique hotel located a block from the beach named Seaside All Suites Hotel. The room was affordable for the location (a block from the beach) & appeared as a mini apartment—there was a living room, full-sized bathroom, bedroom, & galley kitchen—the total came out to $150/per night.

Eat & Drink - Unexpected, yet delicious--the Broadmoor, which was only a few feet away from our hotel and sat oceanside, is a hidden gem in North Miami Beach. The spot served Mexican cuisine & exuded a hip & trendy vide. As we sat at the bar, we ordered a few drinks—spicy margaritas, other types of tropical cocktails, some chips and salsa, of course, & tacos to follow. To be completely honest, there wasn't one thing we ordered that we didn't like. The drinks were the perfect balance of sweetness & freshness, the blue corn tortilla chips were thick & tasty, & the tacos were equally as good--as I mentioned, everything was delicious & I still dream about the place today.

Things To Do - The main reason going to Miami was for the Fortunate Youth Concert, who performed at the North Bandshell Beach venue. The venue was very quaint, so it was perfect for the type of concert it was because there weren't thousands of people and allowed one to enjoy the performance. However, for those going to visit Miami, North Miami Beach is perfect since it isn't as crowded as the other beaches in Miami, like South Beach or Key Biscayne.

day two

Transportation - Use Lyft over Uber when wanting to get around because it is significantly cheaper. Instead of the Lyft/Uber, there is also public transportation, which is free on the weekend and travels all around Miami beach.

Thing To Do - At the time I went, it was the weekend before the Superbowl, so there were a lot of things happening in the Brickell area. Although, it's Miami, which means something is happening all the time, literally. Another spot we checked out was Wynwood, which is a must for first-timers, art lovers, & Instagram feens due to its notoriety of trendiness and authenticity. There are several murals spray-painted by artists specializing in street art and graffiti, and the overall area is breathtaking with lots to see and do.

Eat & Drink - Our first stop was N°3 Social, a rooftop bar located in Wynwood, which served up delicious craft cocktails. At the time, we were starving and their kitchen hadn't started up yet, so we enjoyed some drinks while taking in the view. As for food, we went to Suviche, a Peruvian & Japanese cuisine restaurant, and let me start by saying this is a place I'll recommend to anyone visiting the Wynwood area. Once we sat down outside, we darted straight to the menu and order ceviche, a must, two sushi rolls, and then drinks. The food, I kid you not, came out right away, even before our drinks, which I wasn't upset about, and the best part was that it was all so so good!
