Postcard | Hawaii

Risk & reward is the first thing that comes to mind when I think about my trip to Hawaii. Hawaii had always been on my bucket list, but if I'm going to be honest, there was always the thought of, 'would I ever actually go?' and then it happened. My trip was the most magical and unforgettable experience I've ever had, and one that I'll never forgot.

Mind you, this was the first time I was going to be on vacation completely alone in a place I'd never been before. I mean, of course I could have found someone to go with me, it's Hawaii I'm talking about, but I wanted this trip for myself. I wanted to see how far I was willing to push my own limits and be comfortable with the uncomfortable.

The moment I landed and walked outside, I felt a rush of euphoria and angst; I couldn't believe I was actually in Hawaii. Each day was a new adventure and all I wanted to do was explore this beautiful island and soak up every ounce of it, which is exactly what I did. I met new people, explored the island and took risks daily.

This trip helped me in more than just one way; I was able to let go of meeting new people on my own, I went out to eat and walk around on my own, and I even hiked and explored on my own. I pushed myself everyday to go outside my comfort zone and truly fit in like a local.

Life is meant to be lived, and I want my life to be a story that can inspire and motivate someone else to do something they normally wouldn't. Go outside you comfort zone, yes it'll be scary at first but the result in the end will be worth the thrill.
