Who Am I?

I grew up constantly on the move. This lifestyle was created by my mom, who is the definition of a spitfire. She does not wait for anyone and goes to the beat of her own drum. And did I mention she’s a truck driver?

That’s right, my mom is a certified badass and has been for 24 years. She’s also the most inspirational women I’ve ever met. Without her bravery and tenacious attitude, I would not be the strong-willed woman I am today. I spent weeks on end as a kid with her on the road going across the country, opening my eyes to the endless beauty behind every corner of this country.

These childhood experiences have infused me with a desire to be constantly on the move, and never staying in one place for too long. I learned how to leave my worries and concerns at the door. I am a strong believer in doing what makes you happy, even if it results in seemingly selfish moves. They ultimately pay off- for you, and for those in your life.

Thankfully, my mom felt the same way when I graduated high school and left her behind. I knew it was the right decision and move to make before I felt trapped in the town I was raised in, even if it meant leaving my family and friends. And so, I moved from southern Florida to Massachusetts and then to Washington State- all alone, to schools I had only visited once, and with no one id ever met before. It was scary, terrifying, and any other emotion you could name but it was also just as exciting to be able to reinvent myself.

The baggage I left was essentially my life to date. I brought along my necessities but left prior obligations at the door and never looked back. Thanks for that, mom. Without you being the strong, independent, badass you are I would be nothing. And so, I dedicate this blog and more importantly my life to you because without you forever teaching me your ways I would be nothing in this mediocre world.
